If you have ever filled out a contact form on a website and then stared at your screen wondering, “Did that actually go through?”… you already know why a redirect page matters.

A redirect page is the thank-you page that appears right after someone submits your Dubsado lead capture form. And if you are not using one, you are missing a real opportunity to keep that potential client engaged at one of the most important moments in their experience with your brand.

Your lead capture form is the first real interaction a potential client has with your photography business. It is the moment they go from browsing to reaching out. That is a big deal. And what happens immediately after they hit “submit” can build trust and excitement or leave them unsure whether their message even went through.

So let’s talk about what a Dubsado redirect page is, why you need one, and exactly how to set it up.

What Is a Dubsado Redirect Page?

A Dubsado redirect page is a custom URL that loads automatically after a lead submits your embedded contact form, replacing the default confirmation message with a branded thank-you page on your own website.

Think of it this way: when someone fills out your Dubsado lead capture form and clicks submit, they need to land somewhere. Without a redirect page, they get a generic confirmation message. With a redirect page, they land on a page you designed, on your website, with your branding, your personality, and your next steps.

That is a completely different experience. And if you are a family photographer who cares about giving your clients a great experience from the very first interaction (which I know you do), this small setup makes a big difference.

Why Should Family Photographers Use a Redirect Page on Their Dubsado Form?

A redirect page confirms the form submission, builds brand trust, and gives your potential client a clear next step while they wait for your response.

There are a few specific reasons this matters for your photography business:

It removes confusion. Your potential client knows their inquiry actually went through. No more wondering if they need to try again or send a follow-up email. That peace of mind matters, especially when someone is trusting you with their family’s photos.

It extends the client experience. Your redirect page is one more chance to show your personality and professionalism before you even respond to their inquiry. Instead of a blank screen, they get a page that feels like you.

It keeps them on your website longer. A well-designed redirect page can guide them to explore more of your site, which is great for SEO signals and for warming them up before you respond to their inquiry.

It builds trust during the consideration stage. In 2026, families are doing more research before booking a photographer than they used to. They are checking multiple photographers, reading reviews, and looking at several websites before reaching out. A branded redirect page reinforces that they made the right choice by contacting you.

If you are using Dubsado as your CRM (and if you are a family photographer, I highly recommend it), this setup takes just a few minutes and can genuinely improve your client experience from the very first touchpoint.

What Should You Include on Your Dubsado Redirect Page?

Your redirect page should include a clear confirmation message, a personal brand touch, and at least one strategic link that keeps the potential client engaged with your business.

You do not have to overthink this, but you do want to be intentional about what goes on the page. Here are some ideas to consider:

A warm, branded thank-you message. Skip the generic “we received your message” language. Write something that sounds like you. Something like: “YES, your message is in my inbox, and I am so excited to hear from you! I will be in touch within [your response time].”

A link to your portfolio or a recent blog post. This is a great way to keep them browsing while they wait for your response. A blog post featuring a recent family session or a behind-the-scenes look at your process works really well here. If you blog consistently, you already have content ready to link.

A link to your services or investment page. If someone just filled out your contact form, they are clearly interested. Directing them to more details about your packages keeps the momentum going.

A link to your email list signup or a freebie. If the form they just submitted was an inquiry form (not an email opt-in), offering a relevant freebie on the redirect page is a smart move. You could link to a session prep guide, a “what to wear” resource, or anything else that adds value while they wait to hear back.

Your social media links. Give them a place to connect with you beyond your website. If you are active on Instagram, this is a natural spot to invite them to follow along.

The key here is to think about where your potential client is in their experience with you. They just took the step of reaching out. Your redirect page should reward that step and guide them toward what comes next.

How Do You Set Up a Redirect Page in Dubsado?

To add a redirect URL to your Dubsado lead capture form, go to your form’s Settings tab and paste your custom redirect page URL into the “Redirect URL” field, then save.

Here is a step-by-step breakdown:

  1. Create your redirect page first. Build a thank-you page on your website (in Showit, WordPress, or your preferred platform). Design it with your branding, add your thank-you message, and include any strategic links you want.
  2. Copy the URL of your new redirect page. Save it somewhere handy because you will paste it into Dubsado in the next step.
  3. Log in to Dubsado and navigate to the lead capture form you want to update.
  4. Go to the Settings tab of your lead capture form. This is where you can add a redirect URL.
  5. Paste your redirect page URL into the Redirect URL field.
  6. Save your form. That is it. Now, whenever someone submits that lead capture form, they will be automatically redirected to your custom thank-you page instead of seeing the default message.

Quick note: Dubsado updates its interface from time to time, so if the layout looks slightly different from what’s described, check Dubsado’s own help docs for the most current walkthrough. But the redirect URL feature has been a core part of their form settings for a long time, so the concept stays the same.

How Does a Redirect Page Fit Into Your Bigger Client Workflow?

A redirect page is part of a larger automated client workflow that moves potential clients from first inquiry to a booked session with minimal manual effort.

Your redirect page is not just a standalone page. It is part of a bigger system. When a lead fills out your Dubsado form, several things can happen automatically: they get added to your CRM, they receive an auto-response email, and they land on your redirect page. All of that happens without you lifting a finger.

That is the beauty of building systems in your photography business. Each small piece (your contact form, your redirect page, your auto-response email, your follow-up workflow) connects to create a client experience that feels personal and professional, even when it is running on autopilot.

If you want to see how all of these pieces fit together in a family photography business, The Family Photographer’s Workflow Blueprint walks you through the full client workflow from inquiry to gallery delivery. It is the system I wish I had when I was first figuring all of this out on my own.

And if you want ongoing support with your marketing systems (not just your client workflow, but your blogging, email marketing, social media, and visibility strategy too), The Family Photographer’s Marketing Society is my monthly membership built specifically for family photographers who want to stop guessing and start marketing with a plan.

Can You Track Results From Your Redirect Page?

Yes. You can add tracking pixels or analytics code to your redirect page to measure how many leads complete your form and what they do next.

If you use Google Analytics, Facebook (Meta) tracking, or any other analytics tool on your website, your redirect page works just like any other page on your site. That means you can see how many people land on it, how long they stay, and where they go next. This data helps you understand how your inquiry process is performing and whether potential clients are engaging with the links you have placed on the page.

Setting up tracking on your redirect page is a smart move if you want to make informed decisions about your marketing and client experience. Even basic data (like how many people visit the page each month) tells you something useful about the volume of inquiries and how your contact form converts.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dubsado Redirect Pages

Does the Dubsado redirect page work with embedded forms on any website platform? Yes. Whether you use Showit, WordPress, Squarespace, or another platform, the redirect URL feature works the same way because it is controlled from within Dubsado’s form settings. When a visitor submits the embedded form, Dubsado handles the redirect regardless of where the form is hosted.

Can I use different redirect pages for different Dubsado forms? Yes. Each Dubsado lead capture form has its own settings, so you can set a unique redirect URL for each one. This is especially useful if you have separate forms for different session types (like mini sessions versus full family sessions) and want to tailor the post-submission experience accordingly.

What if I do not have a website page builder that lets me create a custom page? Most modern website platforms (Showit, WordPress, Squarespace) allow you to create standalone pages. If your platform supports creating new pages, you can build a redirect page. If you are looking for a website platform that gives you full design control, Showit is what I use and recommend.

Do I need to update my redirect page regularly? It is a good idea to review it a couple of times a year. Make sure your links still work, your response time is still accurate, and the content reflects your current branding and offers. Small updates keep the experience fresh and trustworthy.

Meet Your Favorite Marketing Strategist and Business Coach for Family Photographers (Dolly DeLong Education)

Headshot-of-Nashville-Newborn-Photographer-Dolly-DeLong-Photography-who-is-also-a-marketing-educator-for-family-photographers

Hi, I’m Dolly DeLong, a Nashville-based family photographer, marketing strategist, and systems educator for family photographers who want structure, clarity, and consistency in their marketing.

My photography journey began in 2006, and over the years, I built a sustainable family photography business while navigating motherhood, client work, and the realities of running a solo creative business. Along the way, I discovered something unexpected: I loved the backend just as much as the creative side.

What started as organizing my own workflows turned into helping other family photographers simplify their marketing, build repeatable systems, and stop relying on last-minute posting or panic marketing.

Today, I focus exclusively on helping family photographers intentionally market their businesses (not with trends but with consistently showing up).

I offer two ways to work with me:

Through my blog, podcast, and YouTube channel, I teach family photographers how to think like marketers, plan ahead, and create marketing rhythms that support both their business and their family life.

I still photograph families around Nashville because it’s one of my greatest joys. But helping family photographers build calm, consistent marketing systems that actually fit real life is a close second.

I’m so glad you are here, reading this blog, listening to the podcast, or watching the embedded YouTube video. I hope this educational content was helpful. Please let me know what future systems content you would like me to create!
