Flodesk + ThriveCart 2025 | No Zapier Needed! Easy Integration

Episode-199-of-the-systems-and-workflow-magic-podcast-BLog-Banner-Flodesk + ThriveCart 2025 No Zapier Needed! Easy Integration

Guys, they finally did it! 🎉 Flodesk and ThriveCart now have a direct integration — no Zapier required. As someone who loves both of these tools (but also loves saving money on unnecessary software), I am so excited to walk you through what this means for your business.

In this post, I’ll give you a behind-the-scenes look at how the Flodesk + ThriveCart integration works, why it’s a game-changer for family photographers and other creative business owners, and how you can set it up in just a few clicks.

Why I’m Excited About This Integration

If you’re new around here, hi! I’m Dolly DeLong, a Nashville-based family photographer turned systems and workflow educator. I still photograph families, but I also teach other family photographers and creatives how to streamline the backend of their businesses with systems and workflows.

One way I achieve this is through free resources available on my blog, YouTube channel, and podcast. I also run a membership for family photographers and serve as a launch planner and integrator for creative small business owners.

That’s why I had to make this tutorial. If you’re using Flodesk as your email marketing platform and ThriveCart as your online checkout and course platform, this integration will save you time, money, and stress.

The Problem With Using Zapier Between Flodesk + ThriveCart

Don’t get me wrong — I love Zapier. It’s an amazing tool for connecting different apps and automating your workflows. But here’s the catch:

  • It can get expensive (especially if you have lots of zaps running).

  • It adds an extra step that sometimes fails.

  • It’s one more tool to manage in an already full tech stack.

Before this integration, every time a student purchased a digital product or joined my Family Photographer’s Marketing Society through ThriveCart Learn, I had to use Zapier to push them into the correct Flodesk segment.

Now? ThriveCart and Flodesk talk directly to each other. (YES!!!!! Cue the hallelujah chorus!)

How the Flodesk + ThriveCart Integration Works

Here’s how simple it is to set up:

  1. Make sure you’re on ThriveCart Pro
The integration is available for Pro users.

  2. Connect Flodesk to ThriveCart
Head to your ThriveCart Integrations tab and authorize your Flodesk account.

  3. Set up automations inside your ThriveCart product

    • Edit the product in ThriveCart.

    • Go to the Automation tab.

    • Choose what happens when someone purchases your product.

    • Select Flodesk and assign the buyer to the correct segment or workflow.

  4. Save your automation
And you’re done! Next time someone buys, ThriveCart will automatically add them to the right segment in Flodesk — no Zapier needed.

My Test Results (And Why I’m Ditching Zapier for This)

Of course, I had to test this for myself. I set up the integration, purchased my own product with a test email, and within minutes, I saw that the email was added to the correct Flodesk segment.

And the best part? I was able to completely delete the Zapier zap I had running for that workflow. That means:

  • Lower costs (no more paying for extra Zaps).

  • Less stress (one fewer tool in the mix).

  • Seamless workflows (direct connection between my checkout system and email marketing).

For family photographers and other creative business owners who want to keep their tech simple but still powerful, this is such a win.

Why This Matters for Family Photographers

If you’re a family photographer like me, you might be thinking, “That’s cool, Dolly, but I don’t run a course.” Hear me out!

Even if you’re not teaching, you still need email marketing. Building and nurturing your email list is one of the best ways to stay connected with your clients, share promotions, and create repeat bookings.

And if you ever decide to create a digital product, run a workshop, or build a membership, you’ll already have the systems in place to make that transition smooth.

This integration means:

  • Faster client onboarding.

  • More organized email segments.

  • Less tech overwhelm.

Hi! I’m Dolly DeLong—a Nashville-based family photographer turned systems + marketing educator and Fractional CMO for family photographers and solo business owners.  After years of juggling motherhood, running a thriving family photography business, and helping other creatives behind the scenes with their launches and marketing, I realized something: the backend matters just as much as your booking calendar.

Now, I serve two kinds of faith-driven creatives:

  • Family photographers who want to stop ghosting their audience and finally stay consistent with Instagram + email marketing.

  • Solo business owners who have a digital offer they want to launch—but feel completely overwhelmed by the pre-launch phase

Through my weekly podcast, YouTube channel, and blog, I offer strategic (but doable) content on systems, workflows, launch planning, and consistent marketing rhythms that won’t burn you out.

I’m here to help you stop duct-taping your backend together and instead build systems that support your life and values—whether you’re marketing mini sessions or launching a course.

When I’m not strategizing a launch calendar or batch recording content during nap time, you can find me photographing families in and around Nashville, watching reruns of Survivor, eating something sweet, or walking with a podcast in my ears. (Yes, I’m that girl.)
