If you’re a family photographer, one of the best ways to simplify your client experience is by setting up a Dubsado contact form on your website. Unlike the basic contact forms that come with platforms like Showit or Squarespace, a Dubsado contact form setup for photographers connects directly to your CRM. That means every new inquiry is automatically captured, organized, and ready for you to respond—without the stress of digging through your inbox.
In this blog post/YouTube video and podcast, I’ll walk you through exactly why you should replace your standard website contact form with a Dubsado lead capture form so you can automate your inquiries, streamline your backend, and never miss a lead again.
Most website builders come with a basic form. While it appears fine on the surface, it doesn’t directly connect to your CRM (Client Relationship Management) system. That means:
You have to transfer inquiries into your CRM (or worse, manually) and keep track in your inbox.
Leads can get lost if you forget to respond quickly.
You miss out on the chance to automatically trigger workflows (emails, proposals, scheduling).
By embedding your Dubsado lead capture form, you’re creating an automated flow where:
✅ Inquiries are sent directly into your CRM
✅ A new project is automatically created for every lead
✅ You can connect the form to automated workflows (emails, scheduling links, etc.)
It’s a simple switch with a powerful impact.
Inside your Dubsado account:
Go to Forms > Lead Capture Form.
Create a new form (I recommend calling it “Main Lead Capture Form”) (don’t make a million otherwise you will get confused and feel even more scattered)
Add fields such as:
First Name
Last Name
Phone Number
Email Address (include a confirmation/retype field to catch typos)
Session Type (dropdown)
A short “How did you hear about me?” or “What type of session are you interested in?”
💡 Pro Tip: Keep it simple! Don’t overwhelm potential clients with too many fields.
Once your form is ready:
Click the share icon on your Dubsado form.
Choose Embed Code instead of “direct link.”
Copy the code because you’ll paste this directly into your website.
In this episode, I used Showit as my example, but the process works on Squarespace, WordPress, or most website platforms.
Go to the contact page of your website.
Delete the pre-designed contact form that came with your template. (Yes, it’s scary, but trust me—it’s worth it!)
Add a new element: “Embed Code” (Showit makes this drag-and-drop easy).
Paste the Dubsado embed code into the box.
Adjust the size of the form to make sure all fields (including the submit button) show clearly on both desktop and mobile.
Now your contact form is fully automated—new leads are sent directly to Dubsado instead of getting lost in your inbox (and you can set it up in Dubsado to be notified whenever you have a new inquiry)!
Don’t skip this step! Always test your form to make sure:
All fields work properly.
The form appears well-designed on both desktop and mobile devices.
New inquiries show up in Dubsado with the correct workflow attached.
Want a deeper dive? I created a comprehensive training (it’s FREE) called ‘The Contact Page That Wows,’ where I break down how to make a streamlined, automated contact page from start to finish.
This free resource is ideal if you’re ready to elevate your inquiry process and prevent losing leads to disorganized inbox systems.
Replacing your website’s default contact form with a Dubsado lead capture form might feel like a small tweak—but it’s one of the most powerful ways to automate your family photography business.
When your leads flow directly into your CRM, you save time, respond faster, and create a polished first impression that sets you apart from other photographers.

Hi! I’m Dolly DeLong—a Nashville-based family photographer turned systems + marketing educator and Fractional CMO for family photographers and solo business owners. After years of juggling motherhood, running a thriving family photography business, and helping other creatives behind the scenes with their launches and marketing, I realized something: the backend matters just as much as your booking calendar.
Now, I serve two kinds of faith-driven creatives:
Family photographers who want to stop ghosting their audience and finally stay consistent with Instagram + email marketing.
Solo business owners who have a digital offer they want to launch—but feel completely overwhelmed by the pre-launch phase
Through my weekly podcast, YouTube channel, and blog, I offer strategic (but doable) content on systems, workflows, launch planning, and consistent marketing rhythms that won’t burn you out.
I’m here to help you stop duct-taping your backend together and instead build systems that support your life and values—whether you’re marketing mini sessions or launching a course.
When I’m not strategizing a launch calendar or batch recording content during nap time, you can find me photographing families in and around Nashville, watching reruns of Survivor, eating something sweet, or walking with a podcast in my ears. (Yes, I’m that girl.)
