Setting Up Workflows for Your Mini Sessions: The Magic of Workflows | Dubsado Educator Dolly DeLong Photography

It’s no secret that I wish I was a wizard some days. I mean, come on – who wouldn’t want a magic wand for a little extra help around the house some days? While I’m not the next Hermione Granger, I DO believe in the magic that Dubsado provides me as a family photographer. Dubsado allows me to plan ahead and create systems that make my everyday life a little bit easier. And, that sounds pretty magical to me. If you’ve been around here for a while, you also know that I believe in being intentional in your business and your content. By being intentional and planning ahead, you can change the course of each day you work. Today, I want to really talk about how you can be intentional when it comes to planning mini sessions as a family photographer. 

One easy way that you can be intentional when planning out your mini sessions is to set aside one day where you set up your Dubsado workflows! I know it feels like a huge time suck BUT it’s important. Setting up workflows in Dubsado for mini sessions can be a huge time saver in the end – and that’s not all! Today, let’s talk about exactly why having a workflow for mini sessions in Dubsado is a huge benefit for your business. 

Why you should set up workflows for mini sessions! 

When you have a workflow in place, you’re going to save time. It’s as simple as that. With workflows that help your clients schedule their sessions and pay, you won’t have to go back and forth with each and every client who books a mini session. Additionally, once you’ve made up the initial templates and workflows, the next time you offer mini sessions, all you have to do is go in and tweak the dates. It’s super easy and another way to save time year after year. Dubsado also makes your job easier! Because you can automate payment reminders and session reminders, you’re going to (hopefully!) see fewer no-shows. I know that’s been the case for me personally. Once people pay, they’re less likely to bail on their session with you! 

Having an automated workflow that ensures every client gets the same reminders, links, and emails leading up to your session also helps you look professional. And can you imagine how much brain space you’ll get back by not having to worry about whether or not everyone got what they needed?! Finally, and probably my favorite thing is that once you build a workflow that starts, you have ONE link to share anywhere you want people to be signing up. That’s amazing! No more chasing down three or four links for sign-ups. I told you, magic! 

Setting up workflows for mini sessions may not be for you if…. 

1. You don’t want to take the time to actually map out your client’s journey for the mini session
2. You don’t want to take the time to actually put all the puzzle pieces together 
3. You’d rather go back and forth and back and forth with clients

When it comes down to it, Dubsado is probably the closest thing to magic on this side of Hogwarts. So, if you haven’t started using it for your business, now’s the time!
