According to Joyce, using AI in your business isn’t about adding more. It’s about creating better systems. Especially for sales seasons like Black Friday, when your energy is already stretched thin, AI helps lighten the load.
She encourages using AI to:
Draft sales pages or emails while you’re nursing or on a walk
Automate client onboarding so you’re not glued to your inbox
Map out your offer strategy well in advance
Create a launch plan that doesn’t lead to burnout
Joyce shared, “I’ve literally condensed two weeks of work into two days using my bots. And I did it with a baby in one arm and my phone in the other.”
While many people start using ChatGPT for tasks such as creating Instagram captions or blog posts, Joyce recommends beginning with a strategy. You can ask ChatGPT to analyze your Black Friday offer ideas, list the pros and cons, or spot holes in your plan. It’s like having a launch coach in your back pocket.
Here’s how she recommends starting:
Open up ChatGPT and talk to it
Brain dump your thoughts using voice dictation (no typing required)
Ask one question at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed
Let ChatGPT reflect your ideas back to you and build from there
And yes, it’s okay if you feel like your thoughts are jumbled. Joyce and I both do this! Sometimes it’s just about getting it all out so you can start to untangle the web and move forward.
After you’ve mapped out your strategy, the next step is to delegate your warm-up content to AI.

Thank you so much for having me, Dolly. We off camera or off recording, we just had the best conversation just relating to like mom things. I’m really excited to connect, but yeah, I’m Joyce. I’m the founder of Only Boldly. In a nutshell, I help coaches and course creators implement AI into their business. I do that through my shop and my course. But my whole like entrepreneurial journey actually started when I was teaching modern calligraphy. So I have always been in the tech space.
like right out of college, it was a job in fashion or tech and I went tech for better or worse. And, at some point I needed a break from the, what I called dude bros, literal, like Palo Alto dude bros. That’s where I was. I learned calligraphy, started a business over the years. It’s been a side hustle. It was also my main thing for a little bit. And now I’m back at a SaaS company, a software company, juggling all the things, like you said, Dolly. So.
you know, I have two under three at the time of this recording. I work a nine to five remotely. but I am, you know, working a nine to five. I have only boldly and I am creating a AI powered creative platform for kids called little spark, like you mentioned. So that’s what we got going on. Friday planning and I know you have a lot to offer for that. But before we begin, what sparked your interest in helping specifically female entrepreneurs, coaches, course creators, scale smarter with AI assistance? What made you choose, okay, I’m gonna dive head first into AI.

For me, it was a couple of things. So it was because that’s my background. One, you know, the course creators and the coaches, when I started my calligraphy business, I was teaching people calligraphy and naturally shifted to business consulting because the people I was teaching calligraphy then wanted to start their own business. So that’s just like the world that I’m familiar with when it comes to the online space.

And that’s just something that I needed with all of the things that I have going on. And I was like, okay, well, other female entrepreneurs need this other moms need this. How can I make this more
accessible and like bite-sized. My whole job and my whole career on the tech side, my nine to five in a nutshell has been taking techie concepts and making them friendly and not techie to my customers and clients. And so that was just like a natural fit as well.

heading into a busy sales season or a busy season when the busy, one of our busiest seasons for a lot of business owners is during Black Friday. And so that’s why I believe that’s why a lot of creative minded business owners tend to like push their planning aside. Cause they’re like, I’ll just do it like the week of or the week before. Like I can pull something off. But talk about like, like,
how we can create better systems for them.

Yeah, I think that AI can be a system. So it’s not even about having more, it’s just having better.
Right? And I see AI filling that hole and better for me means automating what can be automated. It means having AI draft your sales pages and your emails while you are walking, while you are nursing a baby. Frequently, I have a child in my left arm and I have chat GPT on my phone on my right. You know, and I’m still like working and doing that. It means, you know, having some bots and automation for your client onboarding. If you are a service based
provider so that you’re not glued to your inbox. So like you said, especially in a season like Black Friday, your energy and I don’t know, like your energy really is high or like it’s a high energy season or requires a lot of your energy. And then at the end, we’re just like, I don’t want to do anything. I’m never doing that again. I need a new nervous system. Right. And you, you don’t need it. Yeah. You won’t need a new nervous system if you’re kind of going at it.

with these new systems and these AI assistants. And you’re going through like the whole bundle, the Black Friday bundle and summit because you’re gonna learn ways that don’t fry you out at the end of all of this because what happens and I don’t, it’s happened to me before, right? You get resentful a little bit with your business like, I’m so tired. I don’t wanna do that. It’s so draining.
And then it’s not fun anymore. And you kind of, you show up that way. And this way with better systems and doing things faster and with the help of the AI assistants, like you’re just not feeling that anymore. I feel so like back in love with my business once I started implementing the bots, honestly. And before that, I was literally like after my first, I want to burn it to the ground, deleted my email lists. Like I have no desire to do this. And it’s really just brought this like energy back.

you may feel like, I have plenty of time to prepare for Black Friday. But Joyce, what do you recommend to business owners, how they can use AI in their pre, because essentially it’s a pre-launch to Black Friday. So how can they start incorporating AI in their pre-launch process in a smart and strategic way, like an easy way?

I think you nailed it there when you said strategic. So I know that when people are getting started with AI, and this is how I started to, you, you kind of gravitate towards content, using it towards content. maybe we all just hate Instagram and we’re like, I want to off, put this off to someone else or something else. So, you know, you have the bot start writing, but you can also use, and my favorite way to use GPTs are actually for strategy.
So if you start by chatting with your bot back and forth, your prelaunch strategy, ask it to tell you, you know, what does it think for real? Like don’t sugar coat things, bots, tell me what you really think. Tell me the pros cons, where are my holes? This is what I’m thinking. You start there. So you start with the strategy and then you’re able to move forward with maybe planning that lead magnet that does directly tie into whatever it is that you have for Black Friday, because sometimes it’s
What you have ever green or for the rest of year is not going to make sense for Black Friday. And I am guilty of this where I just have kind of thrown a Black Friday thing together before. And I know I could have done that better if I had the time to like maybe tweak my lead magnet or my like main events thing to tie back into my Black Friday offer, you know? So if you’re starting with that pre-strategy, then you’re going into your, that lead magnet we’ll call it. Then you write your emails.
you’re able to do this work and it maybe would have taken you like months or weeks before. You can do it in days. I’ve been able to condense literally two weeks of work into two working days. And so that’s also the power of using your AI bots. But yeah, just kind of going back to pre-launch, I would start with strategy and like really tell it, you know, this is for Black Friday. Here’s X, Y, and Z what I’m thinking, pros and cons of each. How should I approach this? And I did this for last Black Friday and I got some really interesting answers and

things that I didn’t even think about or ways to package things that I didn’t even think about. So you might even find yourself with new ideas and hopefully that gets you excited to do as well. Like, you know, really jump into Black Friday with those new ideas.

So don’t just like go with like the first question and move on from there. Listeners like you do have to ask it a lot of questions and maybe even ask the chat GPT to only ask you one question at a time. So that
way you are like truly like brain dumping because with me, I don’t know if any listeners are like this and I don’t know if you’re like this Joyce, but my brain is going a million miles a minute. But yet I don’t know how to efficiently and succinctly communicate what’s going on in my brain. So I’ve had to have like chat GPT like extract one point at a time, like just asking me one question at a time. And that’s forced me to slow down and
that helps me like untangle the web of thoughts. I don’t know.

And let’s move, and then let’s move on with the strategy from there. and it’s the greatest thing that you can do one-handed or while you’re walking or again.

for you, find those holes, and then let’s like go even deeper. Like what for someone who’s listening in Joyce and they’re feeling like, AI this sounds great, but I am so overwhelmed. What would you say is the first task for this pre-launch Black Friday period that they should delegate to AI?

I think it would be content. So I will say that if you do start with the strategy and then you move forward, like that might produce stronger that will, you know, produce stronger content. because you’ve kind of started from ground zero. It’s kind of like when you’re, start, you don’t start with content creation. You start with your messaging, right. And you’re, and your people’s pain points. So I think it’s the same thing with black Friday. Like we’re actually, let’s, let’s reel it in a little bit, not just dive into like my funnel, but let’s talk about.

the strategy first, but I think the first thing after you get that is really warming up content. So it’s a summer, and I know it feels like it’s very far away, but it is not. This is when you should be warming people up, especially if you’re gonna be launching something new on Black Friday, something completely brand new and not just a discount or something for your course or your offer. So this is really, really important if you’re gonna do something new for Black Friday.
it’s also an exciting time to test things, I think for Black Friday, you know, test your new things on Black Friday. But anyway, so warm up content, I would say, that’s where you start. So is that education posts? Is that you using chat GPT to figure out what the pain points are of your people so that you can put that in education posts and make value, you know, packed emails, write those FAQs, but, just things that are warming them up and not necessarily selling.
just kind of using chat GPT to help you identify maybe what your people don’t even know or won’t even admit to themselves. So once you have that information, then you put it in your content and you put it in your warmup content leading up into Black Friday. I think that’s a low pressure place to start.

love that. yeah, and like audience think of that as like priming content. Like you are getting people ready to pull out their wallets eventually or pull out, like be more interested and intrigued and learning and working with you hopefully starting in November. But if you don’t prime your audience, like.
If you wait till last minute to prime, you already lost their attention because like we live in a very, very oversaturated, very loud market, online market. And I don’t say that to be negative. It’s just so true. Like there’s just a lot of, yeah, it’s just so many voices, so much noise that sometimes like even I can get overwhelmed. like, I don’t even know where to go, what to look for. Like, and so it’s good just to start like reminding them like.

And I’ve asked it to, tell me my Korean fortune, my color palette. I am a deep autumn everyone, per chat GPT.

It’s going to be several key reasons, I think. I first, it is again, strategy. When I first started using chat GPT for strategy blew my fricking mind. Things that I didn’t even think about it identified as holes as pros and cons. If you’re indecisive about things like I get, I have too many ideas and I don’t know what to move forward with breaking down those pros and cons to a strategy.
So that’s really gonna help you with Black Friday, especially like I mentioned earlier, I have noticed Black Friday is a time where people are maybe bundling things that aren’t normally available or testing new things. And so if you’re doing that this Black Friday, really ask chat to go there with you, like pros, cons, what are my holes? What am I not seeing? To really see if you should be doing something one way or another.
And then the content, I mean, that’s not a surprise, but just really getting content that sounds like you out there and not only just like sounds like you, but hey, also infusing maybe some sales psychology, maybe repurposing that content. If you’ve been wanting to get on threads or something, for example, I’m big in my threads phase right now, I’m obsessed. But like if you’re like, I don’t even have time for Instagram, I’m gonna get on threads. Well, now you have time because chat can help you.

And it’s not just like random posts, but it’s again, all tying back to your strategy and to your business in fraction of a time. I’m, you know, we can sit here and we can talk about like the ethics of AI, environmental impacts, like should women be using it more than men? Answer is yes, because it’s trained on, you know, who’s chatting with it. But at the base level for me, it does come back to I’m a mom. I have all these other things going on and it is a time saver.
And when you have that time back, you can take your naps with your kids. You can not feel guilty when, you’re kid, with your kids and you’re like, did I do the business thing or your mind just starts to drift? It’s already handled. So like my mind doesn’t drift anymore like that. Right. And it’s about doing those someday goals faster. Those goals that you have on your Asana board that you keep changing the due date to those I call someday goals. Now you get to do them now.
you know, like instead of just pushing them off. And so it’s going to be the biggest time saver for you on Black Friday.
