Dolly DeLong Photography Weddings: Kevin + Elizabeth’s West Virginia Destination Wedding At Adventures On The Gorge

Back in Fall of 2018, I was only supposed to take Elizabeth + Kevin’s engagement photos in Nashville, but after such a fun session with this couple, I was extremely honored that they wanted me to capture their destination wedding in wild and beautiful West Virginia at the white waters rafting resort Adventures on the Gorge!

Kevin and Elizabeth are seriously one of the most chill and laid back couples I have ever worked with. Kevin has an infectious laugh that lights Elizabeth up, they both love a good dance party, they love having a good time, and they take radiant photos together so, OF COURSE, I said YES to the opportunity of photographing a destination wedding! It was my very first time visiting the state of West Virginia and I kept on telling my husband “Oh my goodness, it is SO pretty here! We have to come back! Let’s take Blaise white-water rafting one day, okay?” (insert my husband laughing at my reactions to how gorgeous West Virginia is! I mean, I grew up in Big Sky Country-Montana-so I was not expecting to be blown away by a state that is not considered a northern state!)

Anyway, even though the actual day was super overcast and rainy, the wedding itself was so much fun! Here are a couple of my favorite moments from their day:

 *The first look was actually a prank that Elizabeth played on Kevin (her friend, Brian, dressed up in a wedding dress which he lost 10 pounds to wear #dedication, and well,  you will see in the photos below Kevin’s reaction to seeing Brian and not his Bride, Elizabeth!)

*We took their family photos overlooking a part of the Adventures on the Gorge resort, and the backdrop was perfection

*Kevin and Elizabeth brought their bicycle from their engagement session and incorporated it in their wedding photos (scroll down to see pictures and click on their engagement link to see the bicycle being featured there as well!)

*Their cake and dessert were made by Elizabeth’s sister, Caroline (whaaaaat!)

*Their food at the reception was incredibly yummy (BONUS!)

*Their bride + groom exit of flower petals was by far my most favorite exit I have ever photographed at a wedding! So many colors!

*And finally, Kevin was crowned “King” of his wedding because he felt like he was at the prom with wedding planning and imagined himself being crowned “Prom King” (Yes, someone actually bought him a crown at the end of the night!)

Anyway, you all, I am so honored that Elizabeth and Kevin included me on their big day in West Virginia! I am officially in love with a new state AND I am so excited that this couple tied the knot in such an adventurous setting!
